Happy Early Thanksgiving!

As a parent, I don't think you are allowed to have a favorite child.  However I am pretty sure as a grand parent, you are allowed to have a favorite grand child, right?  I certainly have a favorite and she is the apple of my eye.  Every time I walk past one of the many photos of her around my home, I smile.  Every time I hear her voice, it makes my heart just explode.  I have started sending her holiday cards and I am finding this very fun!  I have started also including a package of stickers with the card too.  I never get to see her open the cards, so I hope it makes her happy and makes her smile when she gets a card from grandma just like she makes me smile.  Here is the card I made for her this weekend to send off tomorrow with some extras:

Isn't this just the cutest card?  I like how it turned out and I made her some Sesame Street characters to put in with her package of stickers.  I made this using my Cricut Explore.  I just love the print and cut feature!  And to make up for the lack of dimension because I did not paper piece these, I cut two of everything (except the leaves and sentiment) and layered them with foam squares.  The interior has a turkey with another leaf.  All the elements on my card are from Create A Critter 2 and the Sesame Street characters are from Sesame Street Seasons.

I hope you enjoyed my simple and easy card!  It really came together in a flash using my Cricut Explore.  Please feel free to leave me a comment.

Isabeau's First Halloween

Yes, I am still scrapping in 2013 and slowly working my way into 2014.  I thought since Halloween just passed this weekend, I would share this page I did of little Issy's very first Halloween that I just completed.

She was a darling little sheep and her mom and dad were the hungry wolves.  What a cute family, don;t you think?  The cardstock is American Crafts and My Mind's Eye.  I used a Martha Stewart punch to edge my pumpkin paper and I cut a little doily with my Cricut Explore in American Crafts glitter paper to back my journaling card.  All the other embellishments are My Mind's Eye and I used run on letters by Making Memories to add "Isabeau's 1st" to the embellishment.  The photos were matted using Perfect Layers.

I hope you enjoyed my Halloween blast from the past!  Please feel free to leave me a comment.

And here is what I came up with:

Isn't this just the sweetest photo?  Animals and children are my favorite subjects probably because they are so darn cute.  The plain cardstock is American Crafts and the patterned papers are Anna Griffin.  I used my Cricut Explore to cut out the circles and I used a WRMK Lucky 8 punch to create the shaped paper in the back ground.  All the embellishments are Anna Griffin and my photo was matted using Perfect Layers.

ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Time! October 9, 2015

Happy Friday everyone!  It is Sketch-y Friday over at ScrapMuch? and I hope you will play along with us this week.  You can play along using a new sketch that will be posted every Friday and enter your layout over at the ScrapMuch? blog for a chance to win a prize.  A winner will be selected at the end of the month!  All the rules and how to link up your layout(s) are posted on the the ScrapMuch? blog.   Here is this weeks sketch from Laura:

And here is what I came up with:

Oliver is such much fun and so silly sometimes!  I got my phone out and decided to snap a few pics while I was playing peek-a-boo with him.  He is in the chair at my craft table and I am in a chair next to it, in front of my computer.   He will crouch down so I can't see his eyes and I will peer over the back of the chair really quickly and then back down so we can't "see" each other.  After a couple of times doing this and yelling peek-a-boo, Oliver can't stand it and "pops" up at me.  We play until he gets bored..........lol!

The cardstock I used was a mix of We R Memory Keepers, Me and My Big Ideas, and some others that were just in my stash.  The chipboard letters are from The Paper Studio and I used cinnamon Stickles to bling them up.  The butterfly and journaling tag are by Anna Griffin, the washi tape is We R Memory Keepers, and the flourish is by Recollections. I used Perfect Layers to mat my photos.

I hope you enjoyed my layout!  Please leave me a comment and don't forget to enter your layout using this sketch over at the ScrapMuch? blog.

Family Time

New babies are so fun to cuddle.  They sleep so much and they smell so good.  I have so many photos of little Issy sleeping while one person or the other is cuddling with her.  Even at two she likes to snuggle which is so very sweet.  Here is my layout that is all about the cuddle:

These are such sweet photos.  The cardstock is American Crafts and the scrapbook paper is K&Company.  The rhinestone swirl is Recollections, the embellishments are Anna Griffin, and the title is The Paper Company.  I used a Martha Stewart punch to edge my border and I matted my photos using Perfect Layers.

Some things that I would like to point out because I think everything is a learning experience, is that I had some "issues" with this layout that maybe you can't tell, however that is the idea!  I have only torn down a layout completely and started over once in my life and that was many years ago.  I now think that my mistakes are not mistakes at all but opportunities to embellish and get creative.  So have you ever "counted" the letters on an alpha sheet to make sure you have enough for a title only to find out as you are applying the letters that you actually only had one letter "I" but counted it twice?  I do that all the time and I did that with this layout.................lol!  I looked through my other alphas and did not have anything that matched so I looked to see what I had on the original sheet.  I decided to cut a letter "Z" up to get the "I" in family.  There was a bit of white showing where I cut it so I colored it with one of my pens and it really does not look bad at all!  You may have never noticed, had I not pointed it out.  My other "fix it" moment was they layout I created before this one, I used one of my Anna Griffin tags from her Totally Tags collection and REALLY goofed up what I was writing on it beyond repair.  I felt bad for ruining it and just could not bring myself to throw it away.  So I decided I would try and use it some how.  I took one of my background stamps and stamped on the back of the tag in a coordinating color, added a butterfly and a brad, inked the edges, and called it a day!  It looks like I meant to do that and I feel better that I did not throw my tag in the trash.

Do you have any great saves and tricks?  Please let me know and share with us all, some of your best re purposing moments.

Love.....................

Being a grand mother is such a wonderful experience.  It was one of those milestones in my life that I was really looking forward to, however I really did not know what to expect from the experience.  All I really knew is that I would love my children's children because I love my children very much.  It has really been so much more than I ever imagined.  The love I feel for these little people who are growing up before my very eyes, is boundless.  Being a "secondary" parent is just amazing!  I don't know if it is because there is no pressure to raise these children myself or if it is because I just want to be involved in their lives, it is just the most relaxing and enjoyable "life thing" I have ever done.  I have three little girls so far, and a new little boy on the way.  With the girls, I so love doing all the girly things and I love crafting and coloring with them.  I have really been thinking a lot about this new little boy on the horizon and what I would be doing with him in the future.  Then I thought, I guess it will really be more of the same!  Running, jumping, playing, reading, crafting, and making those food things that grandma makes.  I don't have to behave differently just because the newest grand baby will be a boy.  We will do all of those things and I will always make sure that everything we do is a learning experience, just like I do with the girls.  So are you still with me.................lol???

Here is my project:

These photos are from my first trip out to meet little Issy, who is now two by the way!  The bottom photo is a selfie when I got to babysit her and had her all to myself.  When I took this photo, I posted it on facebook because I knew my daughter was probably watching her cell phone and was worried a bit.  I wanted her to enjoy her evening out with her hubby and know that grandma "has this"! I used cardstock from my stash and Recollections scrapbook paper.  I made paper bows using a die in my stash.  The journaling card is from Project Life, adhesive lace from my stash, and a chipboard title also from my stash.

I hope you enjoyed my project!  Please leave me a comment if you like, and let me know what you think.

And here is what I came up with:

These two adorable girls are my older grand children.  We had such a great time this day going shopping and getting some lunch.  Then we came back to my house and did some crafting.  The papers are Bazzill, Recollections, and Anna Griffin.  The tags are from Anna Griffins Totally Tags.  I used Dazzles for the corners, the border under the photo and the butterfly.  Everything else is from my very large stash.  I used Perfect Layers to do all of my matting.

I hope you enjoyed my layout!  Please leave me a comment and don't forget to enter your layout using this sketch over at the ScrapMuch? blog.

ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Time! September 11, 2015

It is so funny, I have never been much of a sketch person.  So when I joined the ScrapMuch? Design Team, I though how hard can this be?  I can follow directions, I am a bit anal, and I like to scrapbook.  However it became hard for me, at first.  My first few sketches, I followed to the letter.  I would look at my finished layout and I would think, this is not how I do layouts.  Well then enter the "light bulb" moment.  A sketch is a guide to help you try different things in shapes and colors.  It helps you with placement, reminds you to add a title, and makes you remember to journal.  So now all of my completed projects are so me and I am loving the end results!

For this sketch, I turned it upside down!  It worked so much better with my photos and elements and I love the end product.  My papers are Bazzill, Creative Memories, and Me And My Big Ideas.  The circle element was cut with my Cricut Explore, the tag is from Anna Griffins Totally Tags, and the rhinestone flourish is Recollections.  My title is chip board letters by The Paper Studio and I used Rangers black diamond Stickles to cover them.  I matted my photos using Perfect Layers.

I hope you enjoyed my layout!  Please leave me a comment and don't forget to enter your layout using this sketch over at the ScrapMuch? blog.

This is what I came up with:

This was a priceless moment for me because I was the first grand parent to meet Issy and also the first person to not only get a photo of her while she was awake but with an adorable smile!  I matted my photo with Perfect Layers.  I used a combo of papers from Creative Memories and Anna Griffin.  I used a Martha Stewart punch and embellishments from my stash.  My journaling is a Project Life 4X6 card that I cut down and inked.

I hope you enjoyed my layout!  Please leave me a comment and don't forget to enter your layout using this sketch over at the ScrapMuch? blog.

This is what I came up with this week:

These photos are of my older grand baby girls and are so stinking cute!  The papers I used were American Crafts and Anna Griffin.  I used Perfect Layers to mat my photos and for the larger photo, I used  Anna Griffin's Foil Layers. I print and cut the butterfly with my Cricut Explore and used Thickers for my title.  The paper bow I made using the new and improved WRMK Envelope Punch board.  My journaling spot is from Anna Griffin's Totally Tags and the other embellishments and ribbon are from my stash.

I hope you enjoyed my layout!  Please leave me a comment and don't forget to enter your layout using this sketch over at the ScrapMuch? blog.

Happy Birthday My Beloved Issy................................

My youngest grand daughter turns two today.  Sheesh, where does the time go?!?  She is the sweest little girl.  She is so very smart and very funny as she learns new things every day.  Here we are:

I wish she did not live so far away so I hang on every moment, photo, and phone call I can get.  I just love talking to her on the phone.  The funniest recent call was when we were using facetime and her mommy let her hold the phone and she decided she was going to run "with me".  She kept saying.........run Grandma, run.........while she was running with the phone.  I said......I am!  I am running with you......................lol!  So funny!

I made her this card for her birthday:

She loves to tell me all about all the animals when we talk so this was perfect for her because there are four animals on this card.  I added googly eyes to the lion and penguin.  This is a card from Anna Griffin's card kit, Playful Pieces.  I love that Anna now has items for small children.

Happy Birthday little Issy, Grandma loves you!!  {{hugs}} and *kisses*

Cat Days

Here is another layout featuring Oliver the cat on various days.  He is always on some type of adventure if he is not taking a cat nap.  Last night, apparently he decided I was some type of prey because he kept chasing me all over the house.  I, of course, decided to play along and ran all over the place.  What I can't figure out is what did he think he was going to do with me when he caught me...........lol?!?

For this layout everything used is by Prima Flowers except the layered butterfly.  The butterfly is by Heidi Swapp called layered butterflies for the Minc.  I ran all three butterflies through my Minc and then layered them using foam squares under the wings near the body to make them look like they are in flight.  I didn't do a lot of embellishing on this page because I thought all the nature elements were fabulous and I didn't want to cover them all up with a lot of stuff.  The paper itself is nice and muted so it doesn't overwhelm the layout.

I hope you enjoyed my project!  Please leave me a comment and if you have a funny pet story, please share!

Bird Hunting

I am sure that everyone that reads my blog is getting tired of all the baby photos I have been scrapping lately..................lol!  I sure can't get enough of my youngest grand daughter who will be turning two in a week!  Yikes, where does the time go?!?  And at the end of this year, she will have a little brother or sister to join in all the scrapping fun for me.  This layout is another of my most favorite subjects, my cat Oliver.  The lighting is horrible in this portion of our family room, but these photos are great!  Here he is:

He is hunting my birds Bailey and Sunset but apparently it bores him to tears and just cracked me up!  My alpha are by The Paper Studio and "made easy" were chipboard letters that I used orange Stickles on and look so much prettier in person than in this photo.  My butterflies are EK Success and the flourish is by Recollections.  The flowers and butterfly center are from my stash and the journaling is a Project Life card.  I am working on a Project Life book for my son and I have so many of these cards that I am now using them in my scrapbooking to use them as much as I can.  My photos were matted using Perfect Layers.

I hope you enjoyed my layout and got a chuckle over my silly cat, Oliver!

Treasure Every Moment

I am really enjoying scrapbooking my youngest grand daughter.  I thought I would never get there as I am so behind scrapping my photos.  I keep taking pictures, but actually doing the scrapbooking is a lot more slow going.  Here is one I got done:

Here little Issy is just days old and already the dog is loving on her.  Aren't these photos so sweet?  A used paper by American Crafts and Anna Griffin.  I used a Martha Stewart punch to add some fun to my border.  My embellishments are a mix of Anna Griffin, Kaisercraft, Petaloo, Creative Memories, and Project Life.  I used Perfect Layers for my matting.

I hope you enjoyed my layout!

ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Time! July 24, 2015

I did this layout out in black and white.  I really don't know why I don't do more of these because they are just so stunning to look at.  The secret to a great black and white layout is to add a "pop" of color and red is the most dramatic.  I picked pink to make it more matchy, matchy to the photo of my grand daughter and me.  I matted my photo four times using Perfect Layers.  My papers used are DCWV, American Crafts, Anna Griffin, and Me and My Big Ideas.  The ribbon, flowers, buttons, flourish, and title are all stuff from my stash.  And the journaling was done on a Project Life card with an American Crafts white chalk pen.
I hope you enjoyed my layout!  Please leave me a comment and don't forget to enter your layout using this sketch over at the ScrapMuch? blog.

ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Time! July 10, 2015

And here is my take on this sketch:

This was soon after Isabeau was born and still in the hospital with mom (my daughter).  It is amazing all the photos they now take after the baby is born.  When I was having children it was one and done!  I wish they had done this when my babies were born.

The papers are Prima Flowers and Recollections.  I cut the purple bracket with my Cricut Explore.  The flowers and ribbon are Prima Flowers and the butterflies are buttons I found in my stash.  The sentiment is Creative Memories.  I didn't journal on this page because it is actually on the other page that this one goes with.

I hope you enjoyed my layout!  Please leave me a comment and don't forget to enter your layout using this sketch over at the ScrapMuch? blog.

Going Home...........................

I know so many crafters out there are like me.  We buy, buy, buy, buy!  We buy because it is so stinkin' cute.  We buy because it is an awesome sale.  We buy because darn it, we just like it and want it...............................lol!  My craft room is truly full to the brim and if I want to be honest with myself, I really will not need anything for years and could create during many lifetimes without buying a darn thing.  I know you probably thought that's not true, I will need adhesive!  And you would be correct except I also have adhesive coming out of my wazoo and could probably go for a couple of years without buying that either if I used what I have on hand.  So what am I leading too?  Funny thing, I am not going to tell you to stop buying stuff and I am sure not going to stop buying stuff.....................lol!  What this is leading to is last weekend I was looking for something totally not craft related and I came across a cute craft kit I bought years ago in an unrelated place and so not in a place it should have been in.  Surly it must have been on sale, or something, I think!  When I found it my first thought was, oh my how adorable!  My second thought was, I had no clue I had this!  A little scarey, however I am a paper junky and a craft addict.  I need a 12 step craft program, however you would have to drag me pushing and screaming to one unless of course that program would enable me into my next purchase(s).  What is even more hilarious is that I don't even know who this company is!  As a former crafting supply store owner, I am pretty in tune with all there is out on the market and I can tell you what is from which company just by sight.  This kit I found is from Amscan, Inc. and called Baby Safari.  This is the layout I created with my new found kit:

This would so be grand daughter approved, because she loves saying her animals and tells me them every time we talk.  Today we talked about fishies and flamingos.  So are you like me?  I know you are......................lol!  Leave me a comment and tell me your funny found treasures and stories!

This is what I created from this sketch:

This is a photo of my daughter and her family when my grand daughter turned one.  I used Bazzill and Recollections papers.  I cut the doily with my Cricut Explore.  I used a Fiskars punch to make the top border and Thickers for my sentiment.  I used Perfect layers to mat my photo and ribbon from my stash to embellish the page.  I didn't journal this page because it actually goes with another page I posted previously and I did my journaling and the first page.

I hope you enjoyed my layout!  Please leave me a comment and don't forget to enter your layout using this sketch over at the ScrapMuch? blog.

Grand Daughter Love!

Being on a Design Team is making me scrap a little all over the place...............lol!  Usually I scrap in chronological order only, however I have been a bit all over the place to fit my scrapping in with my Design Team obligations.  The fun part is that when I skip around a bit I discover I have so many pages to install in my album, when I do catch up.  This is one of those pages I skipped over because it just did not fit in with what I was doing for the ScrapMuch? Design Team.

This is my youngest grand daughter when she was first born.  I made the cards for my daughter and new grand daughter.   The blanket was made many years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter.  I washed it and put a new ribbon in it and gave it to her for her daughter.  The paper and embellishments at the top are Prima Flowers.  The foil flourish is Anna Griffin and the metal butterfly is Graphic 45.  I used a Project Life card to do my journaling.

I hope you liked my project!  Please feel free to leave me a comment.

Here is the layout I created using this sketch:

These are photos of my daughter's first child Isabeau when she was born.   She was a big baby at 9 lbs 7 oz!  The papers I used were Anna Griffin, Recollections and the die cut flower paper is Me and My Big Ideas.  I matted my photos using Perfect Layers.  The journaling tag is from Anna Griffin's Totally Tags.  My "It's a Girl" title is from Jolee's Boutique.  The other embellishments and ribbon are from my stash.

I hope you enjoyed my layout!  Please leave me a comment and don't forget to enter your layout using this sketch over at the ScrapMuch? blog.
