Life With Bailey

I think that "Life With Bailey" will be the title of the scrapbook I am going to do for him. Week one went pretty well. Apparently he likes me as much as I like him. He is very charming and I love all of his whistles and chirping! I have saved a few of his feathers to put in the book. He lost a tail feather last night and that was alarming to me, but found out that it happens and he had broken his tail feathers while in the breeder's care. Bailey will be five months old tomorrow! I am trying to get some photos of him, when he spreads his wings out, as he looks really cool when he does that!

Grand Baby Girl Pic

Look at my new grand daughter. She looks very comfy in her mommy's womb. Her feet are so stinking cute!!! A HUGE thank you to my friend Carol P. who went to my daughter in law's OB appointment with her and snapped pictures for me. Carol also has a new grand baby on the way due around the same time and her daughter lives in the same state I do, and my new grand baby lives in the same state she does. How is that for karma and meant to be?!?!?

Please Meet Bailey......................

Here is the birthday present my husband got me today for my birthday. I named him Bailey after George Bailey in "It's A Wonderful Life", my favorite movie. As I am an animal lover, all my animals live wonderful lives, as I love to spoil them and love them for as long as time allows. My husband felt bad that I lost my beloved cat Mr. Sox and due to the animal dynamics in my home right now, a new cat was not a good idea, so he decided I should become a first time bird owner. Bailey is a hand raised Whitefaced, Pearl Cockatiel. I picked him out according to personalities that would fit me. Bailey is an alpha male and I should be able to train him with no problems. I may even be able to get him to talk some, and will work on it during our long life together, as he is only approx 4-5 months old. Bailey took to me right away and even preened some while I was holding him. We will become fast friends and I was thrilled to know he already knows "step up". I was glad to hold him for the couple hours while we got a crash course on birds and now we are home and have put him in his new cage. I can't wait to take him back out and hold him again, however like everything in life, patience is key and always one step at a time. Right now the dogs (Gus & Neil) and the cat (Tigger) just need to get use to having a new feathered friend added to our humble abode, so Bailey will rest in his cage for a bit. I can't wait to get pictures of him out of his cage! Can you say scrapbook opportunity? Oh, yeah!
