Family Time

New babies are so fun to cuddle.  They sleep so much and they smell so good.  I have so many photos of little Issy sleeping while one person or the other is cuddling with her.  Even at two she likes to snuggle which is so very sweet.  Here is my layout that is all about the cuddle:

These are such sweet photos.  The cardstock is American Crafts and the scrapbook paper is K&Company.  The rhinestone swirl is Recollections, the embellishments are Anna Griffin, and the title is The Paper Company.  I used a Martha Stewart punch to edge my border and I matted my photos using Perfect Layers.

Some things that I would like to point out because I think everything is a learning experience, is that I had some "issues" with this layout that maybe you can't tell, however that is the idea!  I have only torn down a layout completely and started over once in my life and that was many years ago.  I now think that my mistakes are not mistakes at all but opportunities to embellish and get creative.  So have you ever "counted" the letters on an alpha sheet to make sure you have enough for a title only to find out as you are applying the letters that you actually only had one letter "I" but counted it twice?  I do that all the time and I did that with this layout.................lol!  I looked through my other alphas and did not have anything that matched so I looked to see what I had on the original sheet.  I decided to cut a letter "Z" up to get the "I" in family.  There was a bit of white showing where I cut it so I colored it with one of my pens and it really does not look bad at all!  You may have never noticed, had I not pointed it out.  My other "fix it" moment was they layout I created before this one, I used one of my Anna Griffin tags from her Totally Tags collection and REALLY goofed up what I was writing on it beyond repair.  I felt bad for ruining it and just could not bring myself to throw it away.  So I decided I would try and use it some how.  I took one of my background stamps and stamped on the back of the tag in a coordinating color, added a butterfly and a brad, inked the edges, and called it a day!  It looks like I meant to do that and I feel better that I did not throw my tag in the trash.

Do you have any great saves and tricks?  Please let me know and share with us all, some of your best re purposing moments.

Isn't it great when the weather promotes craft time? Glad you are able to take advantage of it! Great job with the layout.
