CHA............What Did I Get?!?!?

Before I begin, I want to tell you I just had a big cry. I deleted all my pictures from CHA in error and have lost them all. I had to retake the picture of the items I received and as I am a "make lemonade out of lemons" kinda gal, I am grateful that I downloaded the picture of Tim Holtz and I at CHA so not all is lost. I was so upset that I put down the lens cap to my camera and now can't find it. Oh well, life goes on................ On to the good stuff!
I had such a great time at CHA. All the vendors were so nice. This was my first experience and I was told that the event was usually bigger, however for a newbie, it was big enough for me. I met a lot of wonderful people and can now put faces to some names. I had fun shopping around and playing with products. Provo Craft had such a large area and a ton of awesome make and takes. If I had driven, I would have a lot more items but I had to limit myself due to flying and baggage weight.
Not only do I own Cutters Creek, I also own a few yahoo groups and I just adore all my members. They are so sweet and kind to each other and there are days I just want to hug my computer. And not only that, they are all so talented in some many ways that it just amazes me at times. They thank me often, however it is they who drive my groups to the success they have become and I owe each and every one of them a world of thank yous! So to that end, some of the loot pictured will be gifted to some very lucky and worthy people. Some of the really great things that they will get is one of those gorgeous Memory Making pink craft aprons. The pink slice was darling and as a breast cancer survivor myself, I was in awe that they decided to go with the "Think Pink" theme. Someone will get one of those Sizzix teddy bears. I also have a piece of the entire new line of SEI paper. Someone will get that too! I have totes and all kinds of little things and I want to share some of the items that the vendors were so gracious to share. Thank you to all the vendors for making my CHA experience one to remember for a very long time.

CHA & Tim Holtz!

I am at my first CHA and having a blast! My first workshop was with Tim Holtz this morning and I had so much fun "Distressing for the Holidays"! And yep, that is me and Tim Holtz! I am ready for some more fun today. I attached a photo of the front of the book we made today. Boy did we use a lot of products and I loved them all. I am loving the new Rock Candy & Crackle paint. I see some new prosducts coming to Cutters Creek very soon!

The Wedding Album Cover!

When I first had the vision of having the cover of this album done, I wanted to do it in silver as my daughter loves silver. However after playing around on the Creative Memory site (I so love Creative Memory albums and that you can get them engraved) I ended up doing it in this darker blue to compliment the blue color of the album. For those that have seen this in person, they LOVE it, and so do I! One of the things that I love about being a scrapper, is the vision. However, I also love that a scrapper can change her mind as long as no adhesive is involved!

Wedding Pages-Rehearsal Dinner & Cocktail Party

This may be a little hard to see, however in person the contrasts are gorgeous! The paper is foiled and I used a foil type paper (silver) in my double mount using perfect layers. I whipped out my Cricut and designed the lettering in SCAL also using the foil like paper to do the shadow blackout for the title. I also used my Copic Spica glitter pen and a glitter brad to attach the tag. I am really pleased how pretty this turned out. The photos just don't do it justice!

And Some More Wedding Pages.............

More pages done!! Yeah me! I have already went back and added a bit more to these, as they were lacking something. I am on a bit of a roll right now, and as like everything else in my life, it is either feast or famine. I can't wait to post the next two pages I have almost finished. I think they are looking pretty awesome! So on these pages I used textured rub ons that I got from one of my favorite gal pals, Kelly who owns Flowers to Flourishes (who by the way is having an awesome PRIVATE sale this weekend!). I also used a grand adhesion, prima flowers, rhinestones (I am such a bling, bling girl!), rhinestone letters, lace doily punch by Martha Stewart, a My Minds Eye journaling card, my Stardust glitter pen on the MME journaling card, and my personal favorite............perfect layers!!

Another Wedding Page Done!

I FINALLY got another wedding page done! I used the new Bazzill Chips I added to Cutters Creek and painted them with Making Memories paints (also in Cutters Creek) and then of course added glitter (I love bling!). I used my Slice to cut the letters, and of course glittered them. I also used some Creative Memory stickers, a MME journaling card, and some more bling!

New Provo Craft Cricut Cartridges!!!

So it looks like we will get some new cartridges at CHA if the new Design Studio font pack is any indicator. Click HERE to download the new font pack. The list is:

Everyday Paperdolls
From My Kitchen
Picturesque
Serenade
Sweethearts
Winter Woodland

Could a couple of these be pre loaded on the new Gypsy? I guess we won't know until CHA. And what about the Provo Craft interview where Major said there would be no more Paper Doll cartridges?? And there would be no "card" cartridges for awhile, however a lot of these coming out seem to be packed with card features. It really is a shame that a company with a product that is awesome and I swear by, can't seem to give good information out at all. I guess it goes along the lines of the saying, "If their lips are moving......."

Scuttlebutt:
All your cartridge info can be stored on this device. However, when you store it, the information is actually removed from your cartridges and installed onto the device, rendering the cartridges EMPTY. Therefore, you still only retain one copy of your cartridges. It has ample storage on it and pricing will be approx $300. I hear it will be loaded with two cartridges worth of images that will NOT BE AVAILABLE for purchase any other way than getting the machine. So all you collectors out there, this has your name all over it!

AND more info: the Gypsy is an electronic version of Design Studio that comes with 2 cartridges already installed. It has a stylus and the top flips open to reveal the virtual keypad and mat for designing on the go. And appears that possibly two of the new cartridges released in the DS font pack this week will be on the Gypsy and that's the only way you'll be able to get those cartridges, much like buying a Cricut machine with its dedicated cartridge(s), so if you are a collector of everything Cricut, this has your name all over it!!!!

My thoughts: with Provo Craft's customer service, or the lack of,............I am not so sure I am willing to gamble my entire Cricut cartridge library on this new item. I also get the feeling that everyone out there that does not register their Cricut cartridges, better do so ASAP, if you intend on buying this item, as that may become key. And finally, I hope this is better thought out than Design Studio, as this product still needs a lot of work and maybe The Gypsy is why that has gone by the way side, however I have a lot of doubts in my own head. What do you think?

Card Making..............how fun!!!

I made these two cards, the other night. The first one was stamped with my new (and very neglected Peachy Keen stamps and colored with my Prisma markers (I so want copics.........ugh!) and covered with a piece of Creative Memory paper. The paper lace I got from QVC a while back and love this stuff! I used my WRMK chomper to round the corners on the card front and the back of the card. The second card I used a kit that my dear friend, Kelly (who owns Flowers to Flourishes) gave me from Cosmo Cricket (Fleuriste). It is hard to tell in the picture, however I found a matching sized flower in the kit and used pop dots to add it on top of the flower with foliage to get some dimension and then added my own glitter brad, because I sooooo love bling! On this card, I also finished off with my WRMK Chomper. I am so loving this tool and just want to "chomp" everything! Take a moment to go to Cutter Creek to take a peek at this tool. You will love it and add it to your frequently used tool stash, I promise!
