The Bride: Getting Ready

As with any Bride, there is always a lot of "fussing" and my daughter was no exception. I wanted her to look perfectly beautiful, although she would have been gorgeous wearing a potato sack, IMHO. I used my JustRite stampers, CM punch, Accent Essentials, and Perfect Layers to mat. I may go back and add a little bling but am leaving this as is for now. It is getting time to start assembling the book so I can see how it is looking. All these pages are sitting in page protectors waiting to be put in the book I have chosen. I have sent the cover off to be engraved and hope it turns out nice. This in once of the many reason I love CM albums. I engraved the one I presented to the kids at the rehearsal dinner of their lives and engagement too.

I am going to be an Aunt, again.....................

My brother & SIL are going to have their 3rd child in July and this time it is going to be a baby girl. Both of my brothers have little children (they are in their early 30's and I am in my late 40's) and my Grand Baby is the same age as their children. For those of you who have kept up with my life, you know I met both my brothers for the first time last year. We have different mothers and were kept apart for whatever reasons our parents have or had, however we are now trying to make some type of family together as adults, out of the whole thing. So I have already bought the gifts from the registry for the new baby and made this card (I am crossing my fingers that this makes it to the baby's album/book) to take with me to the shower. How generous of my SIL's mom to invite me! This was a simple card to make. I found a piece of scrapbook paper in my "stash" that said baby girl (who knew?) and added embellishments and a piece of Anna Griffin paper ribbon. I stamped the inside, however I am keeping that to myself.

Honor Thy Father......................

Father's Day is fast approaching and will be here before we know it! Shoot, so will Christmas, for that matter! (Yes, I really did say the "C"!) I have two Dads so I had to make two cards and although each one is a bit different, they are both the same. However, I did choose different sentiments for each card. I used my Nestabilities to "frame" the flowers that I colored. I also used my JustRite stamper, petaloo flowers, & buttons. I think they turned out kinda cute!

Here is my two page layout of the Groom getting ready for the big moment. I love using my Perfect Layers and have used this tool over and over while doing this album. I also used vellum, Accent Essentials, JustRite Stampers, and a Creative Memory punch.

I used ribbon, grand adhesions, petaloo flowers, Fiskars punch, buttons, and Ann Griffin chip board letters. Stay tuned.......I have one with the bride done too, I just need to take pictures!

NEW Cricut 2009 Release! Stand and Salute & Simply Sweet!

No, I don't have pictures (well I kinda do, but not ones that are of any help), however I hear these little gems will start shipping from Provo Craft approx June 7th! Stand and Salute is a full sized shape cartridge and by the front of the box picture it look like all things patriotic which hopefully will include our beloved Armed Services. (Marines ROCK!) Simply Sweet is also a full sized cartridge and this one is a font cartridge. Alas, I can tell nothing from the picture I have. Another looks like there will be a "hunt" for 20 tickets for a 7 day Caribbean cruise for two to take place January 30th thru February 6th, 2010 in select boxes of Jubilee, Home Decor, Stand and Salute, and Simply Sweet. If this doesn't make some of you "collectors" out there break open those clam shells, nothing! The hunt begins July 1st thru August 15th, 2009. Good luck! I hope someone I know wins, maybe even me!! And you know my store, Cutters Creek, will be selling these!

Added 5/14/09: Here is the best I can do on a picture, as Provo Craft is being very tight lipped on this one.
Added 5/17/09: Here are better pictures of Stand and Salute & Simply Sweet! They are up for pre order at Cutters Creek!
